The annual Daytona Beach Shores Christmas Parade & Event – with a performance by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the traditional Tree Lighting and Food Trucks – is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4. The festivities will begin at 2 p.m. with the Christmas Parade to benefit Operation Changing Lives, which provides reconstructive surgeries to disadvantaged patients with severe facial deformities. The parade route will begin at Crabby Joe’s parking lot, 3701 S. Atlantic Ave., and travel north on South Atlantic Avenue (A1A) for nearly 2 miles, turning left (west) onto Bellemead Drive and ending at the Shores Community Center. The deadline to register a unit in the parade is Nov. 26; call 386-281-3000. The fun will continue with Food Trucks and entertainment by DJ Dave starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Shores Community Center, 3000 Bellemead Drive. Gourmet food will be available for purchase from mobile food kitchens and catering trucks. At 4:30 p.m., members of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Christmas selections at Veterans Park (behind the Community Center) at 4:30 p.m. Bring a chair and enjoy the concert that’s sure to put everyone in the holiday spirit! The celebration will culminate with the Tree Lighting at Veterans Park at approximately 5:45 p.m. Come see our beautiful tree behind the Community Center.
