DOD SkillBridge program information. Good resource for select businesses to partner with DOD at little/no cost with opportunity to strategically reinforce/improve workforce. This program can be a valuable platform for both the transitioning servicemember and affiliate partner organization. Upon approval, servicemembers can perform on the job training for up to 180 days learning partner organization skills while remaining on active duty for pays/benefits with option to retain for follow on employment at conclusion.

VMA FL FAME Sunshine Chapter
The Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) provides a earn-while-you-learn model to provide students a pathway to earn an industry recognized degree while gaining valuable experience at a sponsoring company. In two years, the student graduates with an Engineering Technology AS degree, and earn about 1,800 paid on-the-job hours at the sponsor company. Selected students participate in a 40+ hour per week training program where the attend Daytona State College two days a week and work three days a week for pay at their sponsorship company.
VOLUSIA COUNTY SCHOOLS - OJT, Internships, and Pre-Apprenticeships
Work-based learning experiences provide work experience and training to students at employers' work sites. Through work-based learning experiences, students have an opportunity to see firsthand how what they learn in school is applied in the real world. Students also develop skills in communication and problem solving and work-based experiences connect them with adults who act as positive role model. Work-based learning experiences give students a taste of career responsibilities on a day-to-day basis and hands-on training in a chosen career cluster area.
