Description
SCORE is very pleased and honored to have Jorge Arce, Director and Senior Trade Specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service (U.S. Department of Commerce), provide this highly informative and educational workshop on Website Design in the Global Marketplace. Jorge assists U.S. companies in designing their websites to better engage with global purchasers/buyers. DID YOU KNOW? Less than 4% of U.S. companies’ export and their websites demonstrate this fact accordingly. Foreign buyers look for signals from those very few U.S. companies that export. This workshop will teach you what those signals are! ? Internet statistics: to put the internet adoption rates and uses worldwide Current Website: optimized for the U.S. market, changes needed for overseas optimization ? Internationalization: changes needed to make a website “culturally neutral” to ensure maximum engagement from overseas ? Localization: how to make a “local” version of a website in a foreign country or language (if applicable) ? Elements of e-Commerce: acceptance of payment methods, quotation tools, “shopping carts”, taxes and duties calculations, “dynamic pricing” on local currency. NOTE: This seminar is NOT technical and geared to marketing, sales and business developers for a company and NOT for webmasters. Jorge holds a B.S from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia with a degree in International Affairs. He obtained his MBA from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. He is a Certified Global Business Professional. He is also a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany with the U.S. Army Aviation Branch.
