Residents may choose from the area's finest hospitals for their healthcare needs. Opened in 1928, Halifax Medical Center is a 764-bed full service tertiary care hospital. HMC offers a modern Heart Center, the only Trauma Center, Pediatric Emergency Department, Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Centers, and both a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Neuroscience Center. Its main location is in Daytona Beach, however, a satellite hospital is being constructed in Port Orange.

Halifax Medical Center - Port Orange will be an 80-bed hospital with a 24-hour emergency department, surgical suites, an intensive care unit and all basic hospital services. While conversion is taking place, outpatient services continue from other locations.

Several Walk-In Medical Centers are located in Port Orange and offer, among other services, laboratory, radiology, same-day surgery and an endoscopy center.

Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach offers another healthcare option for residents. This facility is a 116-bed, acute care medical center that offers innovative programs and services. Some of the services patients can receive here include Kidney Transplant Program, Heartburn Relief Center and state-of-the art diagnostic and interventional imaging services, as well as an Oncology Center.

Other health care needs are met by a 16-bed Hospice offering customized care for terminally ill patients and their families. There are also several Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities, along with numerous physicians specializing in Dermatology, Dentistry, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Optometry, Ophthalmology, Physical Therapy, and Massage Therapy, Radiology, Chiropractic, Plastic Surgery and others.
