Events & Programs - Leadership Program XII 2008

Purpose
The single most important ingredient in building a successful, thriving community is an investment in leadership. This program seeks to develop informed leaders who have learned about the challenges that face our communities everyday and who then stand in a position to become involved in the positive growth of their community.

Program
Leadership XII-2008 is an educational program developed by the Port Orange South Daytona Chamber of Commerce. Bright House Networks and Florida Power & Light, are the sponsors for 2008 that help make the Leadership experience happen. This 12 week course, held on Tuesdays each week includes field trips, interactive seminars, meeting the people behind the scenes, experiencing the actual locations and obtaining first hand knowledge of how it all happens. Meet the leaders and get a view from their perspective.

Participants will develop a strong network of community contacts and build working partnerships with community and governmental leaders. Each session is designed to strengthen skills in team building, communication, creative problem solving, adaptability and change management.

Participation
The Leadership program has been designed to offer both a strong community based awareness, while challenging and motivating participants to develop their leadership skills and hone their professional development. Within the Leadership Class, participants build a bond with fellow class members and help each other enhance their community awareness. Attendance and commitment is extremely important to be a viable part of Leadership XII. Upon completion of the program, a Graduation Certificate is presented and graduates become members of the Leadership Alumni Association - an organization working to improve the quality of leadership in our area.

Fees
The program fee is $350.00 and may be paid by the participant or the participant's employer. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. To find out more about the program, call the Chamber of Commerce at 386.761.1601. Call now - class size is limited!
